Design

Design

Always alert

Imagine if your wing mirrors could alert you when there’s something in your blind spot. Or if your SUV could guide you perfectly into a parking spot. We made all this happen and more, with our Vision Assist technology. Available as standard in Subaru Outback 2.5i Premium, 3.6R Premium, and 2.0D Premium.

Design

Plenty of space

Take your Outback on all kinds of adventures with 512L of boot space, that's enough for a whole week worth of cricket bats, soccer balls and skipping ropes. For weekend escapes, put down the rear 60/40 folding seat for 1801L of space. Plenty of room for the tent and BBQ.

Design

Sat nav gets you there

Forget about arguments over directions. Sit back and let the Subaru satellite navigation system show you the way. Built into the infotainment unit, it features full colour display and clear, simple audio instructions. Featured as standard in Subaru Outback 2.5i Premium, 3.6R Premium, and 2.0D Premium.

Technology

Technology

Just say the word

The infotainment system, with large LCD touchscreen, is intuitive and easy to use. Plus you can use your voice to activate it. Could you get anymore high-tech?

Technology

Soundtrack your Outback adventure

The crisp surround sound system is the perfect way to listen to your favorite tunes. Choose from the CD player, AM/FM radio or your smartphone through USB or Bluetooth®¹ connectivity. On the 3.6R variant, be prepared to be immersed in the sound 11 harman kardon® speakers.

Technology

Extra eyes on the road

EyeSight® Driver Assist system is like your second pair of eyes, spotting potentially dangerous situations for you. It can also alert you to take action and can apply the brakes automatically if you don’t. Our award-winning third-generation EyeSight® Driver Assist system works by capturing 3D images through forward facing stereo cameras.

Safety

Safety

5 star approval

Thanks to its clever combination of collision protection technology, the Subaru Outback has achieved the maximum 5 star ANCAP² safety rating. This is a result of an incredibly rigorous safety innovation program, that includes seven SRS³ airbags – dual front, dual front side, curtain-style and drivers-knee – and a whiplash reducing front seat design, which provides extreme support for passengers’ head, neck and torso.

In case of an accident, the ring-shaped passenger cell redirects impact energy around your passengers.

Safety

Reverse made easy

Reverse parking on a tight side street? The Subaru Outback makes reversing safe and easy.

Every Subaru Outback is fitted with a rear-view reverse camera as standard. It’s like having eyes in the back of your head. The rear-view reverse camera helps to greatly improve your visibility and reduce the risk of any bumps and scrapes, so you can get on with your day.

Safety 2

Let all the wheels do all the work

Grip hold of slippery rainy streets. In true Subaru style, Subaru Outback uses our Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (SAWD) system that gives you optimum control and double the tractive capacity of a two-wheel drive car. Because four wheels grip better than two. It’s active safety at its best.

Safety 2

Assistance at the ready

Sudden stopping. Surprise roadworks and hairpin turns. Subaru Outback is ready for extreme urban conditions with its electronic driver assist system called Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC). Featuring a range of stability and braking technologies, the VDC system steps in to help maintain your safety in extreme situations.

Safety 2

Boxing clever

The famous Subaru Boxer engine is not only a great performer; it also reduces the risk of injury in a severe frontal collision. This is because it’s designed to sit lower and flatter in the engine bay than traditional engines, so it will slide below the cabin – not through it – in an accident.

Performance

Performance

Start your engine

The 2.5-litre petrol engine provides more power with 129kW of power at 5800rpm and 235Nm@4000rpm of torque. The more powerful 3.6-litre petrol engine in the Outback 3.6R Premium model, provides 191kW of power at 6000rpm. Then go even further with the Subaru Outback 2.0-litre direct injection turbocharged four-cylinder DOHC Diesel engine in the 2.0D and 2.0D Premium models.

Performance

Extra oomph

When the going gets tough, Subaru Outback gets going. Thanks to X-Mode, Outback delivers even better grip and traction in low speed, slippery conditions.

This is the kind of grip and control you only get from Subaru’s potent All-Wheel Drive philosophy.

Performance

Smoother than smooth

Experience a smooth gear change, with no discernable steps or shifts, thanks to the Lineartronic® CVT. The first ever longitudinally mounted system for AWD vehicles, it optimises the gear ratios to the driving conditions – making for the best possible driving experience possible.

Performance

Smart to sporty

The Subaru Outback can adapt its driving style to suit your day, thanks to Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-Drive). Choose from Intelligent (I) mode for everyday driving. Sport (S) mode for enhanced acceleration and sporty performance. Available on the Subaru Outback 2.5i and 2.5i Premium. And Sport Sharp (S#) mode – available on Subaru Outback 3.6R Premium – for a truly exhilarating drive.
